DM24, TL Audio M4, Amek Big, Tascam M5000, Soundcraft DC2000, RME, Protools

I'm looking for some advice on reconfiguring my (home)studio, my actual confuguration is:

- Tascam DM24 with extra Adat card and Firewire card.
- Mac G5 DP 1.8 20" cinema display
- Logic 7.1 "Pro"
- RME Hammerfall 9652
- Lexicon M300
- Lexicon MPX500
- Drawmer DL241 Compr.
- 2x AKG 414
- 1 Neumann TLM 193
- 2x AKG CK98 Shotguns
- AKG D112
- Sure SM57 etc etc etc

I am very happy with my Mics., RME Hammerfall, Lexicons, Mac and very much 20" cineman display (looks cool)

I am NOT happy with DM24 & Logic 7 "Pro"

I owned & worked in the past with Tascam M3500 together with 1" MS16 DBX, there was very little work to do in order to get a great sound according to my ears and taste. Now I have sold this stuff a couple of years ago and got myself in trouble since then (Read: Computer crashes, not user friendly, to many things which I don't use and are in my opinion just making things more confused).

Well I think that I would be better of with an analog desk (min.16 ch.) which meets DAW requirements, (Direct (Digital) -Outs) and use and another program which is more intuitive i.e. An analog feel while recording and mixing and having the flexibilty in the box.

I looked over the net (Gearslutz, Ebay) in order to see what desk and software would be great in the sence of value for money, reliabilty, sound, user interface, etc etc.

-The TL audio M4 looks cool (what sounds like, dunno!?!?)
-Tascam M5000 (Like that but probably will not fit in my studio)
-Amek Big by Langley (Amek has a name, is that also for this desk, and it this desk still up to date for the use with a DAW?)
- RME Octamic 2x together with using fader controllers (Mackie, Tascam)?? will this be flexible enough (Read: Talkback facilities, routing)
-Nuendo vs Cubase ( will Cubase do the job for basic tracking mixing and edtiting)
-Protools probably to expensive

If I would sell my Logic and DM24 for about approx. 2000 € and throw on top of that an additional 7000€

WHAT WOULD THE GEARSLUT READER DO IN MY CASE, PLEASE I LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVE YOUR OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS, COMMENTS ETC ETC

Hmmm, since no one else has answered. I will answer.

Sell everything except for the Mac and the mics and get Protools HD2 and a new Control 24. Problem solved.

Yep Pro Tools HD would solve some problems.
Run that through a Tascam M5000 and you'll be way in front.

Love Pro Tools
