You guys are going to love the roll music compressor. I used it for the whole Blind By Noon album I did, sounds great, and mastering guys who like aggression but not too much pumping will love it as well with the 150 hz hi pass. It adds just the amount of glue and punch that I love on my mixes. Steve |

I played with it for a while at AES and it was by far one of the standout pieces at the show. Very nice flavor indeed, should street for maybe $1700-$1800 if I recall. War |

It sounds like exactly what I've been looking...price too. I love the 384 ssl compressor, don't really like the Alan smart C2 -- this could be it! End of 2005 eh? |

The Roll Music compressor sounded amazing, this thing really impressed me. I keep thinking about it since the moment i heard it. I believe it's a must have. The other unit that floored me at the show was the Pendulum ES-8. This was a really great AES show! Magnet |

Anybody got any pictures of it? The ones on the Rolls website don't seem to be working... and you KNOW you can't tell how good it is until you see it... forget listening to it.....

i had a listen.seemed cool. has an oddly attactive basic look to it. was still a prototype version. I felt it a major victory to have 'wiped out' almost the whole Rollmusic booth crew with the unlimited drinks deal at our party

You all should have seen how wiped out Ian got at the Lakeside on Sunday night. And after a week in NYC and a delay at JFK, I really am wiped out. The back row of a DC9 is louder than a Hammerhead concert and the taxi to the runway was longer than the taxi ride from Manhattan. But I'm really happy with how the show went and how many people came by the booth, looked at the compressor, gave it a listen, and really seemed to like it (as well as you can, listening with a backdrop of Javits and schmoozing). I was pretty nervous that the thing would go over like a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. I guess we did okay. It was especially great to meet some Gearslutz like bullwinkle J. Moose, as well as our new European dealers - KMR in the UK and Flyline in Switzerland. Those guys both rock. Thanks again to Jules and the SAE for getting us well lubricated for a fine week of socializing with all the geeks and slutz!

Yeah, no doubt it was a great party and a great weekend! The SAE party was killer, probably the best party of the weekend which is no easy feat! It was great to see old friends and meet a bunch of new people too. I split from the Lakeside sometime around 1am and woke up around 2:30 Monday afternoon feeling like the floor of a taxi cab. I spent the whole day walking around like a zombie and making an attempt to rehydrate my system. The compressor seems pretty nifty, it's got a bit of that SSL vibe to it and from what I could gather from cans on the show floor...a similar tone but a different kind of glue to it. The purple light is hip (just like the back panel caution!) and the overall concept & execution is so stripped down and simple, I can't help but like it. I gotta check one out in battle before I make any kind of real judgement...but I think I'm gonna like it.

Here's a link to our PDF brochure that has a few photos. They're not great, but right now I'm working on getting the last bits of finesse spun into the thing so I can start shipping. After that I'll worry about taking better glamour photos. But I'd rather have you listen to it than look at it! http://www.rollmusic.com/systems/superstereo.pdf Here's a shot of me doing some last-minute twiddling on the show floor. You can sort of see the purple meter light, the Grayhill switches, and the big Wima polypropylene capacitors. Here's the Roll gang: Justin Ulysses Morse, Jon Helsing Erickson, Ian R. Cobb and Johnny Smokes. Jared Miller was there too but somebody had to take the photo. |

The RMS 755 is the perfect mixbuss compressor. Love this thing. If anyone is interested in getting some of the first ones, PM me or go to the new site, they are available.
