Awesome song! Also make sure you check out "Party At A Rich Dudes House", and "Blind" on that album

Been really popular around here for a bit... I don't have an qualms with it, it's well put together and uses all the current clichés just as they should be employed (some songs are "auto-tuned" well, others just terrible.. this one works imo)

Basically, I think it's a no brainer hit with the kids.. If you listen the record a couple times, and couldn't tell it was going to blow up, then you don't understand current pop/urban music and market.

The cons?

You feel like a loser when you're partying with girls who want to put this shit on repeat.. so hot, so dumb. But I guess that's my fault, not the song's...

Great production.

I'm sure I heard this a couple of months ago, I've just been waiting for it to drop.
Doesn't it have a REALLY slutty video?

Glad I don't have kids TBH.

owowowooooowow. Great hook. Shame about the verses with that weird autotuned rapping, really quite annoying.
It will definitely do well come spring.

I really like the old-school Nintendo-ish digital sounds. Reminds me of this 8-bit rendering of Muse's last single:

This song sounds great. I agree with the comment that it punches really well.

That super saw synth really works. Totally typical in so many ways, yet it hits hard and is memorable.

I love her vocals and delivery, autotune and all.

It's just one of many terrific synth pop tunes peppering top 40 these days. I listen to all this through my 13 year old daughter's ears, and love it all!

Now I'm gonna go brush MY teef with some nice cabernet.

Not a huge fan of the song, although it has catchy qualities. Nice production. Some of her other tunes on the album (the non-rapping ones especially) are quite good and have some great melodies.

First thing to come to my mind when I heard this song was the uffie/justice collab. Thinly veiled attempt at capitalizing off of the electro-house scene that has been gaining a lot of momentum in the states as of late. As far as a pop song goes though, I'm sure it gets some people dancing.

It sounds like a bunch of kids in kindergarten pushing keys and buttons.

And not the smart kids, either.

Wow, you're right... it definitely sounds like that second youtube video hankdrummer posted. I had never heard of her.

I must say though... the Kesha song hits harder, in my opinion. I think it's catchier. But I totally agree about her capitalizing (or Benny Blanco/Dr. Luke or whoever, can you even trace it back to a root??) off previous music.

I was reading a wikipedia entry about her earlier.. she's been in the music scene for awhile, and she's talented. I'm looking forward to hearing more from her!

yea my first thought was it was a rip-off of uffie, but I have to say it's a really catchy hook and she definitely took that style to a mainstream #1 hit place. kind of like how owl city is a direct rip-off of postal service, but yeah that's how music works! great song. love the synths in it too.

The synth sounds are great in this song... LOVE THEM!!

I know no one is 100% original, but I swear I heard this exact same riff/progression (not vocal style) several times when I was living in San Francisco. I don't remember who the artist was, but I've heard it before, I'm sure...

Also, in the video they made her look nasty... like she hadn't bathed in days... kinda gross and not really appealing to me... To each his own, I guess....

I feel alone here, but I'm bothered by this song. I want SOMEONE to deliver us from this autotune-as-an-instrument wasteland we're drowning in. And the lyrics are about on par with the scribblings of a highschooler. I don't see what the fuss is about. I'd take Lady Gaga over this anyday.

I'll take neither. Pop had turned into a fad just like Rock and Hip-Hop. Remember when pop was extroadinary......

Clean and tight with a lot of cool going on. I like it. And, that's saying a lot since I am in the country scene 90% of the time.

I guess to qualify, Gaga isn't *much* higher on my list either, but I like the notion that she might possibly be just a little unhinged. Or it may be a put-on. Either way, there's a sort of Bjork/Manson level of nuts she's teetering between that's mildly endearing even if the music is just so-so.

And yes, there used to be maaaaaaaaany great pop artists, but I'm not exactly so jaded to believe there aren't a few solid pop musicians still floating around out there somewhere - waiting to be discovered. I'm not 100% ready to write pop music off, as all music tends to trend in waves of greatness and mediocrity.

I actually agree. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Lady Gaga or much of what I hear on the pop radio stations these days, there's always something that is appealing, whether it's the sound of a certain synth or guitar or something, or a cool vocal line. Just because the entire song isn't as stellar as something that came out before it, it doesn't mean that there's nothing to like about it...

True indeed. That Kei$ha song will definitely sell many many copies with my understanding of what kids like today. However, it is nothing "New" or spectacular.

I like it alot, but I see it mostly as a "parody" album. Have you noticed how many times she says "played out" hip hop/rnb cliches? "err body getting crunk" ? lmao..
