Digi CoreAudio Manager - help RE:NI Komplete

Hey all,

So I just purchased NI Komplete 6 - and i dont have a problem running the applications within protools but when i try to run the applications in stand alone mode they wont open and a message will appear: Application has quit unexpectedly

The thing is that when i try to open the komplete applications in stand alone mode this Digi CoreAudio Mangaer icon keeps popping up in the dock area. I called Native Instruments and they told me to call Digidesign....anyway i cant get a hold of a live person on the phone number provided by digidesign so i decided to ask here.....Any suggestions on what this is and how i can fix it??

i have a mbox 2 mini, i can run komplete applications fine within pro tools, its the stand alone mode that has the problem.

My computer is

Mac Pro
System Version: Mac OS X 10.6.2 (10C540)
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 8 MB
Memory: 3 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MP41.0081.B04
SMC Version (system): 1.39f5
SMC Version (processor tray): 1.39f5
Serial Number (system): H09420TC4PD
Serial Number (processor tray): J593902RA4MFE
Hardware UUID: CD3FA936-FF3E-555B-87A2-B891D0801B90

So thats pretty much it...when i try to run the komplete applications stand alone or even in prto tools this digi coraduio manager icon pops up automatically in the dock and i called NI and they said that i would have to probably deal with that issue first as that maybe the reason for the application crashes during stand alone operation....any suggestions?

Hey guys you might want to go check on the digi duc they could probably tell you right away. i just installed the newest snow leopard and protools from 8.01 to 8.3 and from leopard to snow leopard.

i was told some 3rd party plugs could get the bouncing dock thing with the core audio and it's all over the duc. so far i've only had an issue with it if i try to use reason which i don't use anymore. i was warned it could screw logic but it still works pretty great. i haven't tried komplete 6 with it though. i probably should check out komplete 5 to see if it's still working :P

similar problem here

Hello,
Seems like I have just experienced a similar problem here.
I recently installed Kontakt 4, which by the way recognized my DIGI 002 Rack in standalone mode at first. Then, after downloading and installing the updates through NI Service Center it wouldn't recognize my Digi-hardware any longer.
Kontakt 4 now works fine within Pro Tools as a plug in, but as a standalone it only recognizes the built-in audio of my MacBook Pro, which of course is not acceptable.
NI tech team says it's the Core audio driver problem. I have not found any solution from DUC yet.
Has anybody here figured out, how to get Kontakt and Digidesign hardware to function together nicely - both, as a plug-in and standalone?
Thanks in advance,
Raul

Those of you who are on Protools 8, should update to 8.0.4 if you haven't already. It has some fixes for Core Audio.

Also, for future reference: Anytime you buy a VI that has standalone mode, the very first time you launch it, launch it in standalone mode (before you ever launch it as a plugin). NI specifically recommends this. It seems to help it get set up somehow.

It may be too late for that, but maybe you could try uninstalling the NI programs and starting over. NI now has a Mac uninstall utility that you can download from their website.

Might be a good idea to unintall/reinstall Protools.

Digi CoreAudio Manager - help RE:NI Komplete

I had this issue when trying to install PT7.4LE on my iMac with i5/Snow Leopard. I think it's an OS matter.
My Mbox2 would never work with Logic or Reason. So...then again, it may be issues with Avid's drivers for the Mbox. Try updating your Mbox Firmware and reinstalling drivers.
