Thread Starter | new vocal mic
I want a new vocal mic as an alternative/upgrade to the at4050's I've been using. The at4050, I feel is good, great actually for the money, but it can be kind of sterile and grainy on my voice. I want something for male bari vox (and if it's a nice option for ac guitar that's ok), that is smooth, big and 3D - with none of the graininess I hear from the 4050's. Leading contenders so far are Pearlman TM1 and Lawson L47mp mk2. I'm not worried about recreating a U47. Valvet is interesting but lacks figure 8 which I want. 2K usd is the working budget, less is better, more is possible for something really worth it. For example, is a wunder cm7-gt going to makwe me $1300 happier than the Lawson? Any other ideas? thanks
