Waves L2 Hardware Issue

My Waves L2 rack unit suddenly started malfunctioning. It's basically freezing up, controls aren't working properly, meters are intermittently going on and off, and the thing is just basically going haywire. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this. I noticed a couple of caps that look suspect under the hood. Not sure if that's the only issue. I was quoted a $350 service charge to fix it and bring it up to snuff by a Waves authorized shop, but I'm wondering if I should just try to replace the caps and see if that fixes it. It was getting quite hot in the rack, maybe that contributed to the problem. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences.
