A mic for a pacifica and a voice

Hi Slutz

I'm recording a male vocal, some close up breathy, some louder powerful, using an A Designs Pacifica pre amp and considering mics.

With my budget i'm considering Peluso 2247LE or Neumann U87

Anyone any thoughts? Or alternative suggestions?

Think Editors, Depeche, Inxs style vox.

You might want to take a look at the Lauten Audio Oceanus, the Cloud JRS-34, Pearlman tm1, Beez Neez, Mojave etc, There are a number of mics in that same price range that are great pieces.
