Vintage mics worth buying?

I've got the chance to buy some vintage mics for cheap. I just wonder if they are worth having or will they just be cool looking in my mic locker and collecting dust?

The mics are:
Sennheiser MD-412
Telefunken TD-20
Gerätewerk Leipzig VEB DSM61b
Sennheiser MD-420
Telefunken TD-26

Old Shure stuff is abundant and cheap on eBay. Might not be the best sounding in the collection, but they do have a distinct sound.

I think you're the person who will be deciding whether or not they collect dust. Give them a try on a few different sources, see if they're worthy of that spot! People can give you opinions but you'll have to make the final decision.

The thing is, I don't have the oppertunity to try them out before I buy them and they are still 30 Euro each. Just wanted to check if anyone had some experience with these mics.

But thanks for the advice

Gerätewerk Leipzig VEB DSM61b

That's the one. Don't know how it sounds. But a brand name like that is worth the 30 bucks.

...i say stay away. vintage mics make sense when there is a specific microphone you want and really need. if it isn't in production anymore - cool go vintage. otherwise stay away. especially if you dont know if the mics are any good to start with. not everything that is old is good.
so many things can go wrong with mics. you will never feel safe using them in a session unless a proper tech checked them out - add that to your bill. and be prepared that they will not be ok. from about 10 vintage mics i bought, at least half of them needed servicing in some way.

Shopping outlaw style.....

To the OP: Not much advice here, but the Sennheiser's should come home with you if they work I reckon.....

Oh I misread, thought you already owned them. In which case, I'm not sure what advice I can give you but good luck nonetheless!
