Motif xs compared to sound library

Are there any sound libraries that can compare to the motif musically? Like I said in another thread I recently experienced the difference between the motif and goliath and was blown away. is goliath just crappy or are libraries in general not comparable to hardware?

I have both Motif XS and Colossus (pre-Goliath) : the Motif sounds more finished and 'produced' than Colossus, but I think you can make Colossus sound better if you treat the sounds like if they were real instruments, compress and equalize them and put a nice reverb on it. I think the fx section in the Motif comes from the SPX2000, which sounds quite nice IMO.

There are more produced-sounding libs arround (more specialized though) : Welcome to Bela D Media.com , Sample Logic , but you'll need NI Kontakt. You'll also find a produced sound in Nexus :reFX - Home , not only for 'dance' sounds like most people think!

Peter.

Maybe thats my issue. I expect Goliath to sound good out of the box. Didnt even think it needs initial processing...
