black and blue balls? You gotta be careful with those things. You only get one set...

I'd ease back on the hookers and blow.

Same here! You can get the blue ball still, cheap too. Originally they were something like $299, but they can be had for $49 US now. If you have the choice, get the latvian made ones, they're a little more sturdy.

I bought a couple last year at Long & McQuade in Toronto. $80 each or something like that.

My Ball is red!
Actually I have a Kickball and use it on guitar and bass amps as well as kick drum. It has excellent transient response and a switch that lets you boost or cut 150 Hz. I got pretty good results on a stand-up bass as well.
I purchased mine with a Ringer shock mount for $130 out the door at GC a couple of years ago.

As far as I know they've been discontinued.

Hahaha! Didn't mean this all to sound they way it did.

But you having such an odd mic, round dyanmic with +48, greatsounding and a 57 contender, why would they discon it?

blue ball is my standard snare mic...love it!

they're ok on toms as well, though not my favorite.

I got three on ebay a couple years back for $150.
Sold one, still have two! Although I could probably get by with just one.

I like it on Electric guitar too. I use it on almost anything I'd use a 421 on (once both my 421s are in use)
