MoFET76 on the way

Just got off the horn with War. What great service! The long and the short? My MoFET76 is on the way and will be A/B'd against a Purple M76 for an upcoming three day session. Can't wait to use it, and I can't wait for the coffee

I've got one!

Got my MoFet 76 two days ago. So far, I'm in love. Can't wait til the weekend to really put it thru its paces. Brandon, can you tell me if there's any "code" to your serial number?

Hi guys

Are the attack and release settings the 'same' as other 1176's? other than the usual variations from unit to unit, that is. does 10 and 2 o'clock positions give the 'same' result as you'd' expect?

I read that the input/output is different from the purples/vintage/UA, but that doesn't' really matter much, as long as you're getting the same amount of GR.

thanks!

Spent around 15 hours in the studio this weekend comparing the Purple MC76 to the Mohog I got last week. Side by side, the attack and release were "behaving" nearly identical. We could dial the two units up with the same settings and get the same results-providing I started tweaking the input and output, as you say. All in all, very similar boxes. Where the Mohog grabs my ears over the Purple is when I flipped the switch to the Edcor transformer. Put some really nice mojo on male vocals.

I have a MC77 and the release/attack/ratio settings are similar to Mohog.

Fat Pastor- remember that using Carnhill the DB drops- so it can effect perceptions. I find diff between Edcor and Carnhill is that Carnhill is more rounding thickening (good for vocals/snare etc) where you want a thickening and a "slower" transient.

Edcor is more quick in transients, not as thickening- bit more snap- good for instance on piano- or say a kick where you want it to cut through the mix.

Very nice having these transformers giving choice.

The MC77 has a very quick transient snap, sharper edge, not as thickening as even the edcor, and has a mid/upper mid sheen which can get aggressive and edgy.

I really like using MC77 on bass to cut the mix- Mohog on drums/piano/vocals/electric guitar.

i have 2 MO76's and think they're sick.

Brandon is quick to respond to orders and any questions too.

i hate describing audio but it definitely has that 3D aspect plugs don't give you.

my only problem with them is that i've been having so much fun slamming drums and bass into them i can't get on with the rest of the mix!

brandon, please make a LA2A or 3A!

the mo73 is the bomb as well. guitars, vocals and bass sound killer and i've been running my whole mix through it.

good times.
