How is this effect called?

I was wondering how (with what kind of plugin) you can make a sound go from one speaker to another (without) panning off course and then back to the other speaker (very quick). It must be an effect but i dont know which. I am curious.

Thanks

You may be thinking of delay, specifically ping-pong delay.

spinny mic

still needs allot of work , as I want a foot switch that will pan and find
certain positions and where it can be used in situations similar to binaural
applications , live panning and to the extreme of the spinny effect

Auto panning is available as a special effect in lots of different boxes, from the Boss PN2 or Guyatone Tube Tremelo pedals, thru the venerable TC2290 and just about any other rack effects processor. With most of the newer ones you can even automate how wide the stereo field goes (assign the stereo field to a LFO sync'd to the autopanner).

Yep it's autopan. Lots of boxes that do it in different ways.

Are you thinking of a Doppler effect? Either that or you are looking for a ping pong delay a was mentioned above.
