| I am happy using api 312 but I suspect they would perform better with a pre that has higher input impedence. |

| +1... i've also got a racked pair of neumann v476b that they match up with well... oh, wait... mine are fathead I not II...

| I really like the Fathead II's through some vintage 1272s. I thought the combination might be too dark but it hasn't been at all. They sound warm with just enough detail on E gtr, fiddle and sax. I also use api 512c's, they are nice too especially on some percussion tracks, but find that mic thru the Neves to be a special, mellow pair. Acoustic gtr was sweet thru api now that I think about it. "Michelle" like. |
