Best Preamp For Fathead II

What have you guys found to be a best overall preamp for the Cascade Fathead II mic?

I am happy using api 312 but I suspect they would perform better with a pre that has higher input impedence.

I really like the Fathead II's through some vintage 1272s. I thought the combination might be too dark but it hasn't been at all. They sound warm with just enough detail on E gtr, fiddle and sax. I also use api 512c's, they are nice too especially on some percussion tracks, but find that mic thru the Neves to be a special, mellow pair.

Acoustic gtr was sweet thru api now that I think about it. "Michelle" like.
