Thread Starter | Sony APR24 To MIDI Sync Idiot sync question - I'm sorry but I haven't a clue! I'd like to sync my APR24 to MIDI so I can control MIDI mutes on my desk. I'd also like to sync it to protools for odd bits of editing - using a Digi 001 interface and an old G4. How best to generate MIDI Timecode from my Sony APR24? The machine has built in sync and generates SMPTE etc. However, I'm not sure how the connections work, it appears to have serial connectors for sync as well as a BNC and from memory (I'm not with the machine) an additional sync track XLR out. I also have a Philip Rees TS1 which looks like it ought to read SMPTE. Has audio in/out and MIDI in/out. Er, how do i do it? Do I have to stripe the tape and lose a track or is the APR cleverer than that... Is it just a case of the right leads, and connect the XLR out to the TS1, or would it be better to get a MOTU digital performer or similar... HELP!!! | Lives for gear | you have to stripe a track, as far as locking your digi interface that is a whole other enchilada, do a search for syncing 2" and DAW
