Patchbay question: Routing/wiring headphone outs every which-way?

Can someone check my logic here?

To increase flexibility when routing phone mixes (to various live room snakes), I'm wiring my Rane HC-6 headphone amp into a simple TRS balanced 1/4" patchbay (that ubiquitous Neutrik one with the swappable cards, forget the model number... SPP something?).

Question is - can I use the patchbay to route stereo headphone mixes from the 1/4" stereo outs of the Rane to my snake sends (1/4" TRS balanced, although one of my snakes has XLR sends which I've converted to 1/4" TRS with an adapter) on ONE TRS pathcbay jack per stereo out?

Hope I'm explaining this clearly. To put it another way, I just need to check my logic here regarding TRS balanced mono cables vs. TRS cables that are carrying unbalanced stereo signal. Obviously, the bay is balanced; but I'd be connecting the Rane stereo outs using TRS cables - so, each SINGLE jack on the bay would be carrying an (unbalanced?) stereo signal. In other words, I plan on NOT splitting the signal into separate mono cables (in order to avoid using two rows of the patchbay for L and R).

Capiche? Is this do-able, or am I opening myself up to all sorts of noise/crosstalk?

Yes, you can bring up headphone signals on your patch bay. I do it all the time and I don't have any problem with crosstalk or noise. Your standard mic snakes will also pass headphone signal without any problem, unless you have silly runs longer than 300 feet...

Thanks Chris, yeah I use long box-end snakes to send headphone mixes too.

Ok, as an update, I just went ahead and tried this out. Seems to work! I love answering my own questions. Back to whatever you were doing...
