Thread Starter | sca n72 choked sounding....What could be wrong Im borrowing my friends sca pres (a12, n72).The a12 nails the api 312.I have heard nothing but good things about the n72 but when i just tryed his on drums (overheads) the sound was chocked ,thin, and not much of any color (input was cranked). Is there any way he could of maybe put the thing together wrong?Anyone know what would cause this to happen? |

| what combination does your friend have? I'm saving up for a rack in 2010 and atm it's gonna be 6x A12 and 2x N72 but doubting 4-4 as well... (other pres in studio: D&R desk and 8x LineAudio.se OMP - all very clean pres) Herwig

| yeah, i was contemplating a 6 space lunchbox next year, but i may go the route of 2 SCA chassis. 8 a12 and 8 n72. i just haven't made a decision yet, but have heard the n72's and they do sound great.
