It's easy to get this backwards too. Whenever I see a Roland rack synth, I think it looks exactly how it sounds. But I think that's because I've used them so very much ... I just hear that sound in my head when I see one .. and thus "it looks like it sounds" ... difficult to know which came first ..

Yeah I'm in 2 minds about this. First time I looked at it I thought 'my god what is this budget looking thing'. The knobs look like gas cookers knobs, the font is sooooo budget and the LED arrangement is a bit cheapo.

But now when I use/look at it, it screams PHAT. The knobs look fat and the sound is big.

But I agree, at first you wouldn't think its a magical sounding unit.

Lol, i have one of those near a UA 2610 and people always think the MPA sounds way better then the - very beautiful and classy - 2610. But the MPA Gold all lighten up is awesome and i think it sounds awesome too.

On the opposite end here, my Monster PRO 2500 power conditioner. Looks really cool with the real time digital read out... doesnt make a damn sound.
