Help choosing correct monitors for work space (budget 800-1200)

Hey guys looking for some powered monitors between 800-1200 usd. My apartment is a loft style apt so pretty much one giant room with 12 foot ceilings acoustics are not my best friend hear. I keep my gear tucked away in a corner so the monitors would be facing a wall/book shelf. Also the monitors would be kept about 3-5 feet away from my head. any help is more than appreciated. linked are some pics of my workspace so you can get a better idea. any help? also looking for good bass response with out a sub i got this money burning a hole in my pocket...
