Have we been decieved? OsX never was 64bit

I seem to recall that leopard was 64 bit and 32, but then why now with snow leopard , All programs are starting to be 64 bit now ?

And of course window7 coming out has to do with the snow cat.

Was it a publicity Stunt making people think there is 64 bit somewhere ?

Dunno much about it I have to say but seems to be a. Grey area ,
at least for the consumer side.
