Thread Starter | Logic gain plugin vs. Volume fader so i have been doing all my volume automation in logic with the gain plugin at the end of every chain on every track. does it matter if the gain plugin is +"x"dB's...meaning should i make sure the highest gain setting is 0db and then correct the level with the volume fader? right now a lot of my gain automation goes to like +15dB...is this problematic or does it make no difference as long as im not clipping on the tracks? (this is not for recording, just mixing) |

| Lives for gear | If audio is 32 bit floating point, the audio cant clip before it reaches the soundcards DA converter, or you render to a fixxed sample rate (non floating point). So it doesnt matter what your using for gain ![]() |

| Lives for gear | As long as your master isnt clipping, I guess. |
