Coleman audio ms2p monitor switch?

Hi guys !
It's my first thread in this beautiful community !
Sorry for my english... I'm a poor frenchy boy.

Because i'm not rich enough; i've to be pragmatic.
I'm looking for a monitor controller for my HD system with a 192I/O.
What do you think about the coleman ms2p which is cheaper than the crane song avocet and Grace Design m904?


pros :
-passive stepped attenuator
-2 Independent VU Meters
-7 Stereo Inputs

cons :
-only one output
-2U Standard Rack Mount Enclosure (no remote : it has to be in front of me;so it's maybe too big ?! height and leinght)
-no remote




I had a presonus monitor station; cheaper but it was a big joke !!!
IMHO it's a bad monitor controller, or only for concept studio.

What is your application, in example, how do you use the outputs of your HD system to mix to stereo?

Are you really in need of switching 7 Stereo inputs?

I would recommend the Coleman M3PH, which is only a 1RU. It also is a Passive controller, with stepped level control that tracks to ±.05dB. Perhaps you could add the Coleman MB2 Stereo Meter Bridge if that is important. Still no remote, but a great unit never the less. It would give you four stereo inputs and three stereo outputs for speaker switching. It also has Mono, L/R Mute and Phase, which I find pretty important to my work.

I think to mix ITB. So i only need one stereo input.
The matter for me is to have an easy control for my monitor but in front of me,
and my desk is small...
What other solutions for me?

the m3ph would be great but it's too big to be in front of me. what are the industrial wide? Is there a remote?

Should i get for the crane song or audient centro or grace design?

Check out the SPL MTC or 2Control, as those units are desktop and not rack mountable like the Coleman.

The Crane Song Avocet is probably one of the best mastering switcher/controllers out there. Its probably overkill for you, but the DA converters are amazing to use if mixing inside the computer. I would also recommend checking out the Dangerous ST, which is also a wonderful option if you need a remote and faithful monitor path. These options are more expensive, but worth every penny in my book.

I'm a little afraid about the spl because of any review...
I was just thinking about the dangerous st !
And 1000$ cheaper than the avocet.
That's maybe the best way for me.

Have you ever used it ? Does it sound ok?

I'm in the same boat somewhat.
I'm looking for a passive, neutral monitor switch with;
- 1 or 2 inputs (it's only for pro tools)
- 2 to 4 outputs (Tannoys, Mixcubes, may add more)
- I would like for the output channels to have volume attenuators so I can gain match the different speakers for A/Bing, so my amp's volume can remain static.

I don't believe that such a simple product should cost more than $200
