| Silly Question No. 67: Guitar cable thru snake send to Fender Twin? Hey all, Here's the situation. I would like to sit at my monitoring station, and play electric guitar thru an amp located 30 feet away. The amp's in the ISO booth. I have a snake that runs from the monitoring station into the ISO booth. (Typically, I use it for microphone runs.) Here's the question. Can I plug an electric guitar cable (1/4" unbalanced) into one of the snake's balanced sends, and then come out the same snake send (balanced as well, of course) in the ISO booth using another 1/4" unbalanced guitar cable, plug that into a guitar amp, and have it work right? After all these years, I never tried this before. Plus, I'll need to buy an adaptor or two to try it out (the sends are XLR, I'll need to make them 1/4"). Adam P.S. Snake is about 30 feet long. I realize that's a bit long, impedence-wise, but I'd still like to know if, length questions aside, this would work.

| We make a box and cable called the STD which does just this. http://www.littlelabs.com/std.html. We had some issues earlier with static all the best Jonathan

| One with big hooves | Well you could, but the STD is much hipper. Or, leave the head in the control room and run a long heavy guage speaker cable rather then doing it at instrument level. Or you could just be a man and play in the same room as the amp... If headphones don't cut it get some wedges and treat it like a gig.
