I'll trade you naming i/o in place for offline bounce, and the ability to drag mixer channels around for accelerated freeze. Deal?

Hi, the closest you get in Logic's mixer (if you're talking about editing the global I/O labels, and not each of the names of the actual mixer objects) is to click the "I/O labels" menu (in the mixer window, under options). Since the I/O names still are global, and not saved per song, it somehow makes sense to keep them away in a separate area.

If you want to edit the names of each of the mixer objects, the simplest solution is to just double-click that object (whether it's an Input Object or Aux object with an input assigned to it).

I wouldn't be surprised if Input objects as such would disappear from Logic in the future, they mainly only have one advantage over Aux objects (a feature very few people are aware of and even less people use).

Back to topic:

Fact is we are waiting for an HD successor for years now and the
chance that digi will release it next NAMM is pretty high.
LE to HD discount is an alarming sign.
Whatever their product reps may say
and however generous their upgrade prices may be
you will burn money buying HD now...

I´ll wait buying a second system.

And they will continue to. SO... the longer you wait... the more you save.

You can break it down with this simple and irrelevant Algebraic equation.
X / Y = Waffles
(Where X = Cost, Y = Time, Waffles = Waffles)

Wow... This has been some enlightening thread.

I'd just like to say thanks to all of you for your input!

I'm also in the process of deciding whether or not to do the HD upgrade.

I'm curious if the price will drop even lower after the new year, but if it doesn't and they don't extend the upgrade time limit past the end of the year...I would hate to miss out on it!!

I too am one who loves Pro Tools and I would find it hard to believe that they would fail and be going anywhere based on their place in the industry. But... you never know., anything is possible.

I think worst case Avid would be acquired by Sony.

I am not aware of them, but the fact that they have an advantage over themselves makes me want to look into them.

Thanks for that correction.

The only advantage they have over Aux objects is that they let you record audio with plug-ins burnt into the actual files - if someone wants that, that is...
