New to the site

I am new to the site, and wanted to see what it was all about, so I guess that would make this my introduction

Halo-Hah.

I am relatively new here too (few months) and this place is really, really informative and questions are usually treated without the typical web-based disdain for "newbies" to forums.

Ciao

welcome

yeah there was that one guy who piped up and said he was a student but called
himself a 'sound designer' and got slammed for it.

anyhow I agree: I'm new here too--learning quite a lot and I appreciate how
friendly and willing to share knowledge the slutz are.

GS almost helps me curb my dreadful state right now:
intense gear lust with NO money.
ah to live vicariously through those around us....

take care mate!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. To answer some of your questions:

At this time I will not disclose any personal information regarding myself. As I get to know each of you and a trust/friendship develops I am sure more information will start spilling out

As for where I am at, I am currently residing in grand ol New York City, however, I am always on the go (requirement for my occupation) traveling overseas to the other side of Miss America.

I will tell you this much: I am not a gearslut persay... I am more music/business involved and I do quite often carry opinions with me concerning music in general as well as the way things are ran.

So let me tell you off the bat, I have been around for quite some time, I have seen all and done all, I do know what I am talking about. And people tend to carry me as "opinionated and overbearing". If I offend anyone, that is not my intent, as I tend to stick with professionalism, but I do offer my opinion whenever I see fit.

If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask away: I might not give you the answer you want to hear, but then again, I might give you exactly the answer you have been searching for, the answer you dedicated your life to music just to find out...

Hey guys - I'm new here as well, kinda. I've been reading for a few months now off and on, and it got really bad once the Michael Brauer thread started...I can't stay away from it.

So I figured this was a good thread to introduce myself and stop feeling like a stalker.

A little about me...I graduated from a school most people here aren't fond of in '02 and now live in Charlottesville, VA. I work at this killer program called the Music Resource Center. It's a non-profit after school program for kids that's all about music. We've got a a few project studios, a main studio, some rehearsal rooms, a dance room and a performance venue - all for kids to use for $10 a year! Check it out if ya'll get a chance: http://www.musicresourcecenter.org

I'm also cutting my teeth doing some freelance recordings and trying to actually get good at this recording stuff.

There you have it. It's good to be here and I love this board!!!
