Very cool.
A tune for the cool cats.

As I am only listening on my laptop it is difficult to hear all the detail, but it is very good. I wish my first mix was as good as yours. : )
My only comment is that his voice may be a little sibilant.

Keep going as you can definitely bring some nice musical interpretation to the mix. thumbsup

Sounds pretty good. Vocal seems a little bit buried especially when the horns come in. Might be me but the vocal sounds a little heavy to the right. shaker seems loud on the left side.

Sounds quite nice to me. It also seems that you used all virtual instruments except for vocals obviously, am I right?

first, the mix is pretty good as well as the song (catchy). the vocalist has a nice voice.

vocals get buried whenever everything is playing, tone-down the shakers a bit.

again, it's a hell of a mix for a newbie.

Reduce the paino by -1.0007dB

Remove 0.5dB from the male vocal at 200.134Hz

That'll do it

What can I say - sounds great to me, cool song, could be a Eurovision entry and I mean that as a big compliment.

Well done.

Be carefull , there is not a good and a bad mix , ia always have at least 3 mixes per songs for my clients .....

So a mix will be nice for me , bad for you , voice to up for anotha , voice to low for anotha , i listened to your track without payin attention on a laptop , without tryin to analyse , everything is plaisant from begining to end ....so job done , my only "remarque" is about the singer tempo matching in some small sentence, and you have nothin to do with it .....

Thanks for the feedback guys! Indeed, my first mix. Done with minimal gear in a home studio using the latest version of Logic. All instruments are software based.

The vocals were recorded using a Telefunken AK47 mic running into an Avalon M5 pre-amp and a RNC compressor. The interface is a Motu Ultralite running into an iMac computer. I mixed using Beyerynamic DT770 Pro-80 headphones, and I'm aware that they can smooth out the highs, so I was being careful with that.

I was also a bit concerned with the main vocals and carving a place for the singer with so much else going on.

So far, everyone has liked it. We think the singer brings a tounge-in-cheeck attitude that helps the song.

vocals are a little edgy and sibilant..you got a weird thing going on with the piano..are there 2 or do you have a strange effect on it? it pulls me out of the groove as my ears "bounce"

other than that nice job

First off, very nice if this is indeed the first time you've mixed.

So now, to get picky, immediately the piano seemed a bit over compressed and a bit out of place. The lead male vocal had the same feel, and didn't seem to sit in the mix like everything else.

The snare seems a bit lost at times, and could occupy more space in the mix. Overall, it had a bit of a muffled or boxy sound..too much mid range I guess. It could be a little smoother overall and more easy on the ears as it's just a little harsh and compressed.

BUT...overall it sounds good and is a fine mix.

I simply can not believe it's Your first mix and what's more unbelievable - done on headphones.

But if it's true - a beer from me.

ok not to be too much of a doubter but if this was your first mix EVER ,how have you arrived at owning a Telefunken AK47,RNC compressor, and a Avalon M5 ??? thats some pretty high end gear for a noob ,my first mix was done on a bheringer desk and a sm57 !!! Also logic 9 is a fairly deep daw you must have prior experience to be able to pump out a mix ,when you mean first mix do you mean first commercial mix ??
