MoTu to Zed R16 through ADAT.

Ok so I'm an ADAT noob.

I'm trying to up the amount of channels my Zed R16 can record simulataneously.
I'm currently using up all 16 of the Analog channels.
I'd like to get it to receive data from my MOTU 828 Mk2 but have no idea how to.
I've bought the optical cable and plugged both in but I dont seem to receive any information.

Probably due to the way the 828 is setup. Im currently doing it using the panel on the front as apposed to software. Anyone know how to do this?
Any tips?
