| Gear maniac | 1176 Blue Strip, DIY or any good clones? hey guys, Im looking for that 1176 Blue Strip sound without the 5K price tag. I've been considering the 1176 AE which is priced at $2500. But I was wondering if anyone knows of a good DIY kit of the unit or any piece of gear that gets close to the sound? |

| I'll have mine going as soon as mouser gets to the back order. ![]() I like showing off this picture ![]() There isn't a kit, per-say, but check out hairball audio for the more difficult to source parts. I doubt this sounds "like an original" but as far as a quality and useful piece of kit, I have no doubt it rocks. Build any of Mnats rev boards, its a really good project. |
