recording accordion quartet

ok: I know how to record one accordion, I did it several times, but soon I'm facing location recording of accordion quartet .

I'm tempted to use stereo pair of some descent condensers for overall image, but to be honest I never heard 4 accordions playing together so I don't know what to expect.
Do someone have experience in recordings like this?

thanks in advance,

kamil

I have heard 4 accordians playing at once, and thought about how to record them (but never actually recorded them). My first reaction was wow, they are really loud and could easily get harsh and shrill on you.

I would think you would want a very large room for recording, or even go outdoors if you could find a quiet place. Then consider using ribbon mics maybe.

I would be interested in hearing your experiences in recording them, if you would care to share after it's done.
