Avoiding all Lynn Fuston DAWSUM CD threads and posts...

I'm waiting for my CD, ordered 28th April, could take 2-5 weeks....

I'm determined to approach it without expectations.

Renie,

Do you remember Fun Boy Three??

"It's not what ya do, it's the way that ya do it,
It's not what ya do, it's the way that ya do it,
It's not what ya do, it's the way that ya do it,
And THAT's what gets results!"

I do remember that tune. It's fun to remember it.

Why do you mention it? i know you care very much about what you do and the way you do it so i must be missing something? unless the sight of Prof Plum just sent you skipping merrily down memory lane?

I'm very curious about the summing sound of the options available to us aren't you Curve?

Hey Renie,

You have a lot ot catch up to.

On Lynn's forumn there is some great discussion going on.

Very enlightening.

I learned actually how digital mixers work(or are supposed to).

Big controversy right now on CD "A".

Stay tuned.

Renie,

What I meant was: You will do interesting things, no matter what you are summing to.

Sometimes, the art makes you forget about the gear. I know, we're supposed to care about sonic fidelity, and I do, but I care about art more.

I still love that CD you sent me.

Thrill

Have you listened to the CD?

I have. I found it an interesting if frazzling experience and ended up just making gut responses after a while and not thinking about it too much! I found it challenging in terms of how to handle the comparisons in a meaningful way across so many tracks.

I had some definite responses though. I've only listened to A.

My first impressions revealed that what turned out to be the Manley mix was my fave (I know it's a bit soft for you and Brian T, I thought it sounded deep and silky), also liked Dangerous 2B, PTHD, SAW, Digital Performer and Cubase ( )didn't dig Paris, Studio Vision Pro, PT Mix+ 5.1.1 0n OS9 (which is what I use grudge, although it did sound better through the Pultec ), Samplitude, and Trident.

I'm sure some of those mixes are scientifically identical. Either my ears got confused or science is "wrong" haha!!

I'll go back to the mixes again now I know what is what and think abit more about the notes I made and whether I still hear the same way.

If you have heard it, were you surprised by anything?
