Thread Starter | SSL Alpha Link with Aurora 16, does this make sense?
If i wanted more analog I/O options and im primarily using an SSL Alphalink SX and connect the 16 channel I/O of AES from the Lynx Aurora to it would that make sense or would it just essentially make 2 conversion stages and ultimately result in the "color" of SSL's converter over the aurora's or when u use AES the conversion is done at the attached device and not the converter ?

There is no conversion taking place if you connect a digital signal to a digital port (i.e. the AES/EBU ports on the Aurora). The only conversion taking place is when the signal goes from digital to analog and back.
