Any suggestions for a pair of active near-field reference monitors around the $400 price point? I'm sure this question has been asked numerous times before, but I RESPECT the judgement of many board members here. I also realize, that monitor choice is a very personal issue. This is the price point where I must hover around as not to get attacked by the wife with her glue-gun! :O) Any thoughts from experience greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. ~~~Lee

The JBL LSR25P's seem to sell for around the $400 or less mark for a pair (used) at e-bay. Never tried them though, so perhaps more knowledgeable gearslutz's can comment more wisely than moi. Chris |

The Tannoy Reveals can be had for around that price used, and they are pretty astounding. They have a VERY VERY clear sound. They do lack bass response, though.

Thanks Lee. Come to think of it, there was a "Paradigm" thread a while back here on gearslutz that you may want to look up also. Chris |

There's a set of NHT A-10s on e-bay now @ $350. A set of A-20s up too for @ $500. I have the A-10s and they are great. Worth checking out. You may want to do a Google search for other comments.

Used? I'd look for a pair of Event 20/20 BAS. Slam 'em all you want but I've never a mix not translate well.
