Master Chan EQ (high shelf) for Orchestral Sampling Music (with nice color)?

Dear Gear Slutz,

I have reached a nice point in terms of my ears (I am a composer - so I hear like one) where I can finally begin to hear the differences between EQ Brand X and EQ Brand Y. I am finding when writing orchestral music with samples there are a few tricks which always need to occur one being applying a high shelf for some life. Till now I have been using logic's chan EQ (its rather plain sounding) but I am looking for an AU EQ plug that will add some nice "character" to my orchestral music around the high's. I admire the Hollywood mixers for doing this - so it would need to sound in that vain.

Best regards,
ED

There are so many to choose from! I have a funny feeling Voxengo's HarmoniQ is what your looking for. Smooth as you like, very transparent but adds some nice hamonics & depth to the sound. Very pure & musical sounding, my favourite software mp eq for mastering work. Theres also a lp mode which is a nice addition. thumbsup

Thank you for your answer. I am afraid to me it appears the plug in suggested is a windows only program. I need AU support (

But yes you have exactly what I need in mind!

Let me first say that I don't have much experience with orchestral recordings.

Great EQs! Some of the nicest eq plugs you can get. Not on my orchestral list though.
