Thread Starter | Event Opals in Nashville Does anybody know where I can demo a pair of Event Opal monitors in Nashville or Memphis? I have the opportunity to get a pair at dealer cost but would like to demo them before dropping the money. Although, I guess if I don't like them I could mark them up to a couple of hundred below retail and sell them! I would still like to demo them before deciding. Any ideas? ![]() EDIT: Found a studio that will let me demo the Opals.

Thread Starter | I haven't had a chance to go listen yet. The rep I will be buying through says that they are expecting more in te States in November. There is so much demand that the factory can't make them fast enough. |

| Corner Music Check out Corner Music on 12th. They had a pair next to some Adams and others last time I was there. They are out in the middle of the room on a riser and the air conditioning was kicking on and off while I was there. It's cooler now, so maybe that won't happen to you. Obviously, you wont really know until you get them into your own room, but If they are listening, I'd suggest a better place to check out these bad boys. The staff IS helpful, and I like to support these guys as much as I can. regards, Don |

| The opals are stunning in a room that has the right amount of treatment. I have a pair and they make my hair stand they are that good. Will say it took me a while to get my room set up right to make them truly shine. These are big speakers and command a decent mix area (width) to respond properly. My experience is they needed to be at least 1.8 metres apart for the right imaging quality so that may be a consideration depending on your room. Key is dont think they will compensate for major room problems because they wont. While they do have room controls I have found these are good for fine tuning after you get the basics of the room right. Anyway to me they are now worth every cent. Cheers |

| Lives for gear | MTSU has them in all their studio rooms...I think they are even set up for 5.1 in two of the studios! if you have an affiliation with the school I'd check them out there. |

| Gear addict | Wow! I guess John Merchant (MTSU professor who helped design the Opals) got the school a pretty good deal on them! |
