Around the world...

I have a habit of visiting websites of studios cos its my dream to find a studio with a lot of "vibe" to record an album there. Someday. Before I'm too old to move I hope....

Which studios around the world do you think has the most "vibe" to the place? "Vibe" to me, is the "X factor" which inspires musicians and elevates their creativity just physically being there. It can mean any of the following:

1. Locality factor: The surrounding neighbourhood, town or even the country it is in; e.g. EGREM in Havana. Meaning the culture and lifestyle of the locale is inspiring by itself.

2. Vintage / historical mystic factor: Studios that have recorded GREAT bands from the 60s-70s and has retained most of its cosmetical look. Of course their likelihood of possessing vintage gear adds to the charm.

3. Cosiness factor. May not have top-shelf gear or done high-profile clients, but have a homely, disorderly, informal, unpretentious feel to it. Might have something to do with the great hospitality of the studio's owner....

4. The "Hideaway" factor. Usually located in rustic countrysides and gives bigtime clients especially a feeling that they are taking a sojourn as much as they are working on the next record. The peacefulness, beautiful nature and low stress environment is the vibe here. E.g. Vega Studio in France

5. The Decor factor: Something visual that is inspiring. Can be the layout of the place, paint colours/texture for walls, lighting, natural light, carpets. Basically stepping inside the place makes you feel creative already and you are tempted to take a lot of session photos just to show pple what a cool place you recorded at....

As you may have realised, most "Vibey" studios have a mix of factors 1-5.

So, do point me to those websites so I can drool at the photos during my next surfing break....

Thanks!
