Thread Starter | Good reaaallllly cheap speaker: interesting scenario So, here's what I'm facing: I'm involved in an unpaid gig, passion and love for medium and other artists involved, not strictly commerce(I have enough of that during the day) Working on a mulitpoint audio presentation, 8 channels, one stereo pair in each corner of an odd makeshift room made of shipping pallets(?! within massive empty warehouse), to accompany a 2 panel video presentation. I will be paying for speakers out of my pocket for this(it's really a cool project) Because of the precarious wall structure I can't use any of the powered speakers I was planning on using. I think I can cobble together the amplification elements, but want 8 matched speakers, but 0/tiny budget. Any recommendations? Regards, jhg

What I have currently is a few Blue Sky Sat 6.5 -(active which I'd love to use, with 3-4 subs, but walls won't support the speakers, so moot point), Avantones - which can't really work with their limited range, and pair of somewhat decent Tannoys as my hifi speakers, which I'd love 6 more of, but totally can't afford in this instance. I've heard good things about KLH speakers for inexpensive applications, looking at ebay. CL tip for sure, but need all 8 speakers to sound similar. Wow, this is such a dumb question/application. | How big is this room? Are you looking for more loudspeakers or good speakers? |

cut a hole in the "walls" and mount the speaker on a stand peeking through the hole

Thread Starter | The walls - supposed to be 8-10 ft tall - stacked pallets, a temporary installation, can't be reinforced. Don't want to strap the ole omnimounts and speakers to a non anchored wall - something that will inevitably be banged into real good. I'm looking for recomendations of good cheap passive speakers. This is the opposite of what I am currently working with. Yes, I am a total ass for that previous statement. Regards, jhg |

| I don't think these are popular around these parts so I am prepared to get e-shot. haha. But really I am still looking for a speaker as good and as cheap as these for bookshelfs. And I would blindly buy there loudspeakers/pa speakers just on the strength of there Hi-Fi. I am interested to see what stacks up in this cheap price range. I need a second reference and I am cheap haha Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 Bookshelf Speakers - Special! Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 Bookshelf Speakers - New! I am currently using 4 Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 Pro Actives with 2 Diamond 8 DFS rears. Great freakin sound and I didn't break the bank. |
