Help: Digitec Schlumberger F 500 Reel to Reel... unknown French High End?

Hello fellow Gearios,

I just bought this very nice looking machine on Ebay yesterday (was too cheap to pass up at 299 euro)

Digitec Schlumberger F 500

It came straight our of a German broadcast facility, fully serviced thru the years and runs up to 15 IPS...only thing is I can't find ANY info on it online. Apparently the company that built it was French and belonged to Studer for some time...Thats about all I know.

I would be most grateful for any info from anyone that has worked with / heard this machine. Especially how it compares to a Studer A80 or Telefunken M15??

THX!

I have a pair of these. Drop me a PM for more information. We could phone which is faster than typing if you need to know something specific.

Hi, i have just bought a Digitec F500 too.
Could you give me some info on it too please.

I want to use it for recording certain parts - guitar , vocals and also to warm up a mix....

Bump for any user comments on these machines???
How do they sound and perform?
How smooth and reliable is the transport and tape handling? Does it have transformers?
Any way of geting spares?
Absolutely almost no info online about them.......
