I haven't used them, but I've HEARD that the speaker warehouse ones are just good knockoffs of popular speakers (mostly celestion).

Check out James' various threads about heavy tones.. I think his current favorite is a V30 and a Scumback M75 combo. I haven't tried Scumbacks yet, but they'd be on my short list to at least try.

Not sure if I'd say they blow them away, but I've got the Warehouse Veteran 30s (their version of the V30) in my Avatar 212 cab and am very happy with it. Sounds as good to me as my old Mesa 412 cab with V30s and I can carry it up/down stairs a lot easier.

I have one of the Avatar 1x12 cabs and it sounds great. I also have some of the WGS speakers (vintage 30 and classic 80 knockoffs) and am pleased with them. I filled a 90's Marshall 1960b cab with v30/classic 80 in an X.

However, I suspect you'll wish you'd gone with a 4x12 rather than a 2x12. There's a deeper punchier voicing that seems to come from a 4x12 that I don't think you'll get from a smaller cab.

I agree. I have an Orange 2x12 that tonally is my favorite cabinet I own, but it doesn't have the depth of a 4x12. That doesn't mean I can't use it for heavy guitars, but it is different and I usually wind up using a Mesa 412 for heavier music, even though I prefer the sound of the Orange. Can't get enough of the "chugga chugga" with the 2x12 cab.

Totally agree, the other day I was reamping some guitars and A/Bing a couple different cabs. I accidently plugged my mesa cab into the left input instead of the full mono input so only 2 speakers were working. Sounded so much weaker and had less bottom/depth.

It was a very noticeable difference.

I have this really poor friend who had a cheap ass 4x12 cab loaded with the biggest piece of crap speakers I've ever seen, they literally weighed about 3 pounds each and the magnet was smaller and thinner than a hockey puck. Anyway I gave him 2 of my Celestion G12T-75's out of my Marshall cab(two of his cheap ass speakers blew in the same week) thinking it wouldn't make a huge difference since I only close mic one speaker and use it in my studio. Well all of my recordings with just the two speakers really seemed to lack punch. The tracks were still usable but you could really tell something was missing. Anyway I replaced the two G12T's with two Warehouse Guitar Speaker Veteran 30's and man the cab sounds sweeter than it ever has. The punch is back and better than ever and the Veteran 30 closed mic sounds fan-freakin-tastic. Took me months to decide to go ahead and go with WGS. They just weren't Celestions, ya know? I'm thrilled I did it though, great bang for the buck speakers.
