Thread Starter | novation remote zero MKII looking for user experiences. I am looking for a control surface for dedicated channel strip EQ and Comp. I am wondering if the faders are good enough to put up a rough stem mix. How is it for tracking purposes? Does anyone think that this could be a replacement to a Mackie Control? Runnin Nuendo here |

| Lives for gear | I have a remote Zero - it's ok. The MK2 looks more refined, more of what you need, less of what you dont. Automap is pretty cool. I don't think those faders are motorized. I'm running sonar and haven't gotten the transport controls to work yet... probably user error through various upgrades between cakewalk and novation. why not get a liquid mix - that's it's whole bag... I love the liquid mix - I know there are haters, but I'm not sure they've actually used it. ![]() It doesn't sport a gui that looks exactly the original hardware... big deal... it's what it sounds like that matters - if people just need to look at GUI's there's Antress... Thread Starter | still seems i will be super married to the screen. i am not sure if the novation will help in that respect because it seems as if there is ALOT of interaction between the controller and the screen. i am sure it will just take me getting used to it. |

| Well - I have to disagree with a previous poster - yes - the faders are useless for anything except some synth tweaks but encoders and pots are priceless with controlling soft compressors and EQ and other mixing plugs. The implementation of the whole system is very good and simple to setup. I just finished mixing a CD using the Remote SL for controlling plugs - its a nobrainer. Try it. Marty |
