how do you cut out the middle of a stereo track? (take out vocal info)

I tried splitting the stereo track into 2 mono tracks and reversing the polarity on one of the tracks and it kind of works but I'm not hearing all of the info and it has to be in the middle. Is there a way I can hear the stereo audio without the center? I want to hear how some bands do their vocal reverb/delay on certain tracks. Thanks

Jeff

Try duplicating the stereo track. Then switch L<->R and and flip polarity on both channels of the duplicated track.
