Questions for people who regularly use drum triggers / drum replacement software!

My dilemma is I'm not really in a volume friendly area- for loud drums.

Most of the time we muffle them so we don't have issues..

I can't get evicted or sound complaints anymore...

SO:

WHAT drum program works BEST with protools, bfd, drumadog, others programs idk about?
WHAT are the best triggers to use with that drum program/brain(io).
HOW do i go about setting up this kind of rig?
HOW does it work?
WHAT upgrades do I need to have the best sounding stuff?
WHAT is the best stuff?

Can anyone give me incite/personal experience in these situations?

I've got a 2k budget. But, honestly- volume and recording drums loud, is not a daily real option.

right now, using the Massey DTM to generate midi from audio (which is by far the tightest thing I've ever used) and kontakt to play back the samples (but you could use anything that accepts midi input).
