Gearslutz Bay Area Get-together, With Proof!

Great time was had. Beer was spilled. Neve clones were not discussed.

Kind of hard to find the Slutz in a croud. I thought it would be easier. I did run into Balanceman who I had worked with briefly in the past, so we made a little sign and walked the tables looking for a group of nerds with no women. Imagine our suprise when we found our Slutz looking cool and with women!

There is talk of making this a quarterly event.

Here are the pictures:

Around the table from left to right (and forgive me if some of the names are off) Mark & Jana (wife), JamB, Ballanceman, David R., Cletus (Ryan), SEPhillips (Jeremy), CEBOLAO (Sebastian), Catfish (Joe) with Suzy taking the picture.

Missing from the picture is Kent.

Did I get it right?

This was my strategy as well. I actually went up to a group of nerds with no women sheepishly asked "Are you guys from Gearslutz?"

They replied, "With who?"

"Gearslutz."

"Who?"

"Gearslutz."

"Uh, no."

For some reason, it's strangely awkward to say the word "slut" at the Zeitgeist.

Luckily I found the group on my second try. I couldn't make it down until 8:30 so I missed the photo shoot and it looks like I missed a few people as well! I cast my vote for a quarterly get together.

The reason is you would get your teeth kicked in. By a woman. And her boyfriend would be there laughing.

Man, I love Zeitgeist.

Had a great time and am glad we got as many slutz to come out as we did. Thankfully I didn't have to wander around with my make shift gearslutz sign for too long before I found everyone! Great bunch of gearslutz here in the bay area. Hope to see this happen again in the future!
PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a lot of fun guys.

I used to live over there myself for a bit pre 2000. (Marin, SF, Berklee.)

Great town with a great music scene.

I`d still be there if it wasn`t so damn expensive to live.

Happily, I always think of this place as "gear-slootz" -- since it was a German radio journalist I used to work with who turned me on to the place and, well, you know, she didn't 'get it' that the suffix was actually "sluts" (a word she well knew, from covering the Americn pop culture beat).

That said, whenever someone says "Hey, fellow slutz..." I get a little tweaky twinge...
