That explains a lot!

As gauche as the drug threads may be, they are somewhat relevant because of the drug use associated with musicians. Some of the younger guys and myself included might not know how to deal with apparent drug use in the studio and may not be comfortable with it or how to deal with the situation when it arrises. I am lucky because what I do is in a private studio space with friends and those guys have never even seen heroin before. The hardest thing that gets put back in our place is a joint or a case of beer, and cigarettes are to be had outside. In all honesty I would rather read about drug abuse then another Violet vs BLUE thread.

Yeah, tends to come in waves. Before long we'll be back with the "What's the best mic for $200...just TELL ME which is the BEST" threads.

It's been really interesting watching the evolution of gearslutz since the beginning. I personally doubt we'll ever see the same level of good-will and toleration of other viewpoints as when gs was new. Or perhaps I remember it differently than it actually was. At any rate, it seems to be the same path that any popular bbs, newsgroup, list or forum takes.

Sadly, the smoke thing is a relevant studio issue.

It is sad. I asked what I thought to be a legitamate question and it has turned into childish madness. Maybe more people should spend more time working and making music rather than posting in a forum, just for the sake of posting.

Hmmm...maybe I should do the same.
