Great River inserts yeah or nay ?

Whats the advantage of using this insert? Should I include it in my patchbay? This would have to be normalled I assume. If I'm not going to use them , I'd rather not run constant signal up and around. Also the book says this is -10db ??

I go from the Mp-2NV into Distressor. I don't think there is an advantage using the hi-Z inserts.

The patch points are intended for use with the EQ-NV series equalizers, though any gear with the appropriate unbalanced patch point is compatible. Advantages begin to show themselves when you start using the two units together.

Essentially, when the two units are patched together, and "MPI" is selected on the EQ input section, the Mic pre is the input to the EQ, and both unit's Line outputs are available. This is useful for "removing" the output transformer color from the mic pre, via the EQ's electronically-balanced line-output. Again, BOTH set's of outputs are available to choose from, or track both...

If the units are patched together and any of the other input options are selected on the EQ, the Line INPUT of the EQ is now active, rather than the Mic Pre, and both sets of outputs are available. This is useful for adding transformer color to the EQ, via the mic pre's output transformer.

There is no "Hi-Z" insert, only a Hi-Z input for instrument level devices. This input EXCELS at Bass guitar.
