Balanced XLR to balanced TRS???

Is there an adapter to go from balanced XLR out ( of an API lunchbox) to balanced TRS in ( Mindprint compressor ) ??? I could just go from the XLR out of the lunchbox ( Great River PRE) to the XLR mic in on the Mindprint but then I would not be bypassing the pre on the Mindprint right ?

If you can solder - you can simply make this cable. If not, you should be able to find one on eBay or a place like Redco Audio.

you can buy an XLR to TRS cable at any music store anywhere anytime

edit: oh yea, and going XLR in to a mic input will not bypass a pre, ever.

yeah the Mindprint has a line in input in the back which I assume bypasses the pre and goes right to compression/eq

probably, check the signal flow diagram or manual or whatever... sometimes line inputs still pass through the mic pre's gain stage.... if there is no way to control the gain on the line input, you can rest assured you have bypassed the preamp stage.
