A question to developers addressing hihat hell...

Been sitting trying to get good hihat sound/performance out of both superior 2 and Addictive drums and it seems to be impossible. Never heard any good example in a song or as a demo either. The problem is most apparent when doin hard-rock style with lots of open hats. It just sounds like shiit!

My question is;

Why not use the repetition-performance technique that VSL and EastWest uses on their strings and pianos? So your tie an ending to an unique start. And it would be nice to control the openness with the modulation-wheel or something. Maybe that's possible now and I've missed it...

The mod-wheel thing would be something like the velocity-crossfade thing in the Vienna instruments plug.

Any thought's on that??

Best,
