Automating bypass on an effects in sonar

Hey does anyone know how to automate an effect like delay to turn on and off in Sonar without automating the send amount. I want to put a delay as an insert on only one track and automate the delay to turn on and off where I want but I dont see a option for this in the automation parameters menu. Protools has a bypass for each plugin?

Not sure what you have against automating the Send. Whatever parameter you automate, you still have to select every On and Off location. I do this all the time with Send envelopes.

Can u automate turn the send on and off? That would work. I just perfer not to automate the send amount. Dont really have anything against it but then if I dont get back to the exact right amount and time I have to spend alot of time penciling. With turning it on and off, its a easy square envelope and it just seems it would be easier to get right the first time.

Understood. Some delay plugs have a bypass parameter. Or, if you use the Sonitus and the delay is used 100% wet with 0% dry, you can automate the Mix button to turn it on and off.

I don't see it in SONAR 7, but I didn't search the Help. I'd think if it was available it'd show in the list of available track envelopes. But it doesn't. You might ask in the SONAR forum since those guys know more than me. I know only as much (little) as I need to. Which is about 1/10 what SONAR can do!
