Video / Audio What's up ?

I am really glad to be a blu-ray owner and really dig the format, I happen to have a 10K projector and a 106" wide screen, yes I'm really into it, I'm not sure how the real movies are gonna feel after watching what I do in my living room, I know the audio will still be amazing at the movies vs my Bose system.

Ok all BS aside, why is the video/movie world meaning the general public all into the "BEST" they can get in that field while we listen to mp3? and XM radio in the audio side, Is it about listening to music "on the go" and having a 100 bands on a ipod/iphone, that is the only reason I can think of.

i guess technically it's all napster's fault. back when the service started, everyone had 56k modems, so the file sizes had to be as small as possible.

i remember goin to a movie with friends and they'd be playing a CD of 64kbps MP3s they got off napster. mmm...washy.
