Thread Starter | Configuring E drums with software
This is probably simple, but I'd like to know before I spend the money on a kit. As of right now I use such samplers as EZ Drummer, Battery, EXS24 etc. for doing my drum sampling from a usb keyboard controller. As you might guess I'd like to buy an electric kit to do my triggering from, but want to know what's involved as far as assigning the drums with the software. Is it like using a keyboard where you have to turn local off? Do I have to do anything in the actual software? Or do I simply run my midi cables to the kit, turn everything on and go from there (probably not, seems too good to be true). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You would just use the Kit in place of the keyboard via MIDI cable. Just make sure you have everything properly assigned within your DAW.

So I would just assign my instrument track to the midi port I'm using correct? I use to use PT but now I'm in logic 8 and since I've been in logic I haven't used any outside midi devices.
