l/r out into DAV preamp: add a seperate DI?

I want to plug L and R out from synths / mpc / drumcomputers into my stereo D.A.V. broadhurst gardens 1U. It's a stereo unit but has only 1 D.I.
My other preamps are mono strips. The stereo preamps on my interface are not very good. :-)

Should I buy a separate D.I. unit and plug in the Right output of the synth into the separate DI output into the line input of the R channel of the DAV?

Is this a good idea or will the two channels sound differently and possibly scr*w up the stereo image? Two separate DI units of the same type?

YES..you can plug synths e.t.c. into the mic[XLR] inputs, if the level is too high use the pads. works well![remember to turn the phantom 48v off]
