Difference between older and newer Sytek preamps?

I'm wondering if anyone can fill me in on the basic history of Syteks.

I'm looking at one from 2002, which apparently has Burr Browns on channels 3 and 4. On the back it says "JFET", not Burr Brown. Is that the same thing? If not, what's the skinny?

Are there any sonic differences between the Syteks from '02 and the more recent ones? Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have one of those sytek preamps here, and I looked at the back, and it has some handwriting that says "BB 3-4", which I guess could mean Burr Browns on those channels. I haven't used the preamp much, I'm borrowing it from a friend..

Interesting, so this probably has a different op-amps than the Burr Browns they now use?

Burr Brown changed the design, the newer units don't have the same sound. Call Mike @ Sytek, he can explain it to you.
